Hi mikeyg45,
Since this is only a user-to-user forum, and since Encore Technical Support never monitors this forum, this is not the best place to request advice for a Technical Support problem.
And, as can be seen in this "Forum Rules & Guidelines" FAQ
http://forum.hoylegaming...st1545_Forum-Rules.aspx
Encore has requested that moderators keep the forums clean by modifying and/or deleting any posts which contain Software gripes or gripes about Encore or Broderbund. So, it was necessary for me to edit out a portion of your message.
When I conducted a Google search on your s1023 error message, I discovered that that error message is not connected with the Hoyle software at all. Instead, that error message is connected with the DirectX which is installed before Hoyle Casino 2012 is installed.
To fix that problem, I would advise you to do this:
First, please note that the following instructions are for PCs only. If you are using a MAC, please let me know.
1. Click on the link below
http://forum.hoylegaming...Windows-7.aspx#post3917
then follow the directions in that FAQ for performing a thorough uninstall of Hoyle Casino 2012.
2. Click on the link below
http://forums.encoreusa....e=1&key=ꌸ
then follow the directions in that FAQ for creating a dxdiag.txt file. However, instead of saving the file to the hard drive, simply look at the bottom of the 'System Information' section to see which version of DirectX is installed on your computer.
If you see that you DO have DirectX 9 or newer installed on your hard drive, all you should have to do is to perform the 'clean' install which is recommended below.
If you see that you DO NOT have DirectX 9 or newer installed on your hard drive, please click on the link below
http://www.microsoft.com...isplaylang=en&id=35
to download and install the recommended version of DirectX
Then, click on the link below
http://forum.hoylegaming...-XP-2000-Vista-Win7.aspxand follow the directions in that FAQ for performing a 'Clean' install.
If you experience the same problem after you perform the 'clean' install, your only option, I'm afraid, would be to contact Technical Support again - and make sure that you mention the fact that you have been experiencing the error code of s1023.
